I thought I lost my style after becoming a mom. The problem wasn’t more clothes. It was my silhouette. One of my goals this year while exploring my postpartum style was to experiment more with bottoms that felt a little outside my comfort zone and honestly, I’m so glad I did. It pushed me to try styles I normally would’ve skipped over and made getting dressed feel exciting again. Below are some of the bottoms that ended up becoming favorites.
denim Cargos
Cargos made me feel styled without trying too hard which, as a mom, is the sweet spot. Pairing a pair of cargos with a fitted top or an oversized jacket became a repeat style for me plus all of the extra pockets doesn’t hurt.
- Relaxed but intentional
- Add dimension instantly
- Make basics feel styled

camo Cargos
Camo cargos were a fun switch for me and quickly became one of those pieces that make an outfit feel styled without trying too hard. The print adds a little edge while the relaxed fit keeps them comfortable for everyday wear. I usually keep the top simple and let the pants do most of the talking.

brown skinny jeans
If there was a color I wanted to add into my wardrobe more it was BROWN to the point where I think I overdid it 😂 These chocolate brown Zara jeans were hands down my favorite purchase this season. They felt like a nice change from my usual denim. They’re still fitted and easy to style, but the color adds a little warmth and makes the outfit feel different without trying too hard. I like pairing them with neutral tops or layering with a jacket so the look stays simple but still put together.

DENIM WIDE LEG JEANS
Remember when these were the standard? Growing up, we called them bootcut jeans. I had gotten so used to wearing fitted styles that trying a wider silhouette felt different at first, but they’re so comfortable and instantly made my outfits feel more relaxed. Paired with a simple fitted top, they give the whole look personality without trying too hard.

Looking back at these outfits, it’s clear that the pants did most of the work. The tops were simple, but switching between different silhouettes completely changed the feel of each look. It reminded me that sometimes refreshing your style isn’t about buying more clothes but exploring new ways to style the look.
