My baby boy and I recently had a fun experience at Eudora Safari Park. I was so excited to take him because of his obsession with animals. It was a surprise that was well worth the wait. Getting to the park was a long drive deep in the woods but easy to find.

The Safari Experience

Prices for the drive-thru safari ranged from $18 to $50+, with optional feed buckets available for an extra fee. While feeding the animals adds to the fun, the experience is just as exciting without it. The staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere was clean and easy to navigate. The path was rugged and dusty making it feel like an authentic safari adventure.

Once we entered the safari we were immediately greeted by llamas, ostriches, and goats! Having such a close encounter with so many animals was scary at first but quickly turned into excitement seeing them up close. I expected my son to be afraid, but he surprised me with his bravery and even fed a few animals. His favorite animals that we saw were zebras, llamas, and ostriches. I love that he got to see a real llama up close especially since the *Llama Llama* books are some of his favorites!

Walking Areas and Attractions

In addition to the Safari drive-thru; the park has a petting zoo, wagon rides, pony rides as well as food trucks on site for a full day of fun. We didn’t get to explore the entire park, but we plan to return.

Tips for Visiting Eudora Safari Park

  1. Arrive Early – The park can get busy, especially on weekends. We got there a little after they opened and it was a line. Arriving early helps avoid crowds and gives you more time to explore.

  2. Choose the Right Vehicle – If you’re doing the drive-thru safari, bring a car with good clearance since the paths can be rugged and dusty. Thankfully, we were in a Jeep—perfect for the bumpy safari path.

  3. Bring Cash/Card for Extras – Feeding buckets, pony rides, and wagon rides have additional costs, so be prepared if you want to enjoy those extras. Halfway through the path, there’s a stop where you can refill your feeding buckets for more up-close animal encounters.

  4. Dress Comfortably – Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, especially if you plan to explore beyond the drive-thru. A hat and sunglasses can help with sun exposure.

  5. Be Ready for Dust & Animal Slobber – The paths are dusty, and some animals get up close, messy (and slobbery!). Bring wipes or napkins for easy cleanup.

  6. Respect the Animals – Follow park rules, don’t feed animals outside designated areas, and roll up windows if needed to avoid overly friendly visitors. We only fed a few animals and still had a great time!

  7. Pack Snacks & Water – While food trucks may be available, bringing your snacks and drinks ensures you stay hydrated and energized.

  8. Capture the Moment – Have your camera ready! The animal encounters make for amazing photo opportunities, especially if little ones are involved. I’m so glad I brought my camera to capture all the amazing memories from our trip.

Our visit to Eudora Safari Park was a 10/10 experience! From up-close animal encounters to the welcoming staff and fun activities, every moment was unforgettable. Whether you’re feeding the animals or just enjoying the sights, it’s a perfect adventure for all ages. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to visit again!
