Faith in Transitions: Stillness, Trust, and My Go-To Tools

Transitions bring up such mixed emotions…
excitement because you know something good is coming… but there’s also hesitancy because you don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle yet. You’re hopeful, but also holding your breath learning to trust what you can’t see yet. If I have learned anything in my life, it is that silence can be loud and often profound. Stillness doesn’t mean I’m stuck; it means I’m trusting that things are being orchestrated for a greater purpose. My faith has been stretched and strengthened so much over the last 3–4 years that I know what it means to be anchored even when I can’t see what’s next and trusting that God is already there. So here are a few of the tools and staples that have been helping me stay rooted in faith while navigating the in-between:

The Gym: My Place of Release

One place I’ve felt that truth the most? The gym. Working out has always been a release for me. But in this season of motherhood, surrendering, and deeper trust; the gym has become more than just physical. It’s become spiritual. It’s where I remind myself I’m strong: mind, body, and spirit. Gospel music fills my headphones and for those 60–90 minutes, I feel grounded again. Check out what’s been on repeat during my workouts lately with my workout playlist below.

Books + Devotionals That Shifted My Perspective

The #1 thing I’ve been intentional about lately is prioritizing reading more: not just for entertainment but for transformation. These books have met me right where I am, challenged the way I see things, and gently reminded me of God’s presence and goodness in every season.

  • Behold Your God Student Workbook: This book completely shifted the way I understand who God is: not just emotionally or culturally, but biblically. It helped me move past surface-level ideas and really dig into the truth of His character through scripture.
  • Glorify App: One of my favorite ways to start the day. The devotionals are short with scripture, reflection, and context and speak right to what I need especially before the day begins. I love how it breaks down the history and background behind what I’m reading. It has become a consistent part of my morning routine. It’s simple but it makes a big difference.
  • Purpose-Driven Life: This book reminded me that no matter how much I plan, life can take unexpected turns and those turns often reshape the plans I had in mind. Reading this book helped me release the pressure to control every detail and instead surrender to God’s plan. Even when His path doesn’t look the way I imagined, I’ve learned to trust that it’s still good and it’s always leading me somewhere meaningful.

Transitions aren’t easy..at all. I still struggle. They stretch you, challenge your trust, and often force you to sit in the quiet to seek and hear God clearly. But even in the unknown, there’s peace in knowing you’re not navigating it alone. I’m learning to embrace the pause and trust the process. If you’re in a similar season, I hope these tools and reflections remind you that even in the transition, God is working and He’s always right on time.
